DIAGNOSE ISSUES EARLY BEFORE THEY NEED MAJOR REPAIRS
As a business owner, you always search for innovative strategies to stay competitive and stand out. Oil and fluid analysis is one strategy that gives your crew a real-time picture of your operation’s most important equipment. With more information about your equipment’s fluids, you’ll have valuable insights into its health and efficiency.
Warren CAT offers a comprehensive Cat® S·O·S™ fluid analysis program to detect problems early and give you the peace of mind you deserve for your fleet.
BENEFITS OF S·O·S™ FLUID ANALYSIS
S·O·S™ fluid analysis helps identify minor issues before they evolve into expensive ones. This process allows you to stay on top of your machine’s condition to protect its integrity, optimize its performance and maximize its productivity — all of which will help you lower costs and boost resale values. Routinely testing the fluids in your equipment from offers extreme benefits like:
- Detects problems early, so they can be repaired before becoming major failures
- Monitors positive as well as negative performance so that you won’t pay for component repair prematurely
- Allows you to monitor maintenance schedules to verify routine maintenance has been performed
- Enables you to better manage budgets and project timelines by predicting repairs, downtime and equipment life
- Helps develop a complete service history for each machine, which is a valuable insight for evaluating performance, planning replacement purchases and commanding higher prices at trade-in or sale
SOPHISTICATED ANALYTICAL TECHNOLOGY IS THE KEY
Maximize your equipment’s life span with S·O·S™ services from Warren CAT. Our experienced technicians leverage state-of-the-art, highly sophisticated analytical technology to regularly inspect oil, coolant and fuel samples. They’ll perform four kinds of tests on your machine’s drive train, hydraulic and engine fluids, looking at factors such as:
- Component wear rate
- Oil contamination
- Oil identification
- Oil condition
Our Cat-certified interpreters will look at the results and generate a detailed report alerting your crew to potential issues and offering insight into practical maintenance practices that will improve your equipment’s productivity on the job.

WARREN CAT SAMPLING
While your equipment may look great outside, internal equipment issues could put your operations at risk. At Warren CAT, we strive to give you a transparent picture of your machine’s end-to-end condition by offering the following sampling kits to test your equipment on your own:
Oil Sampling
- Oil testing, with elemental analysis, oil condition check, viscosity check, particle count for cleanliness, physical testing to identify water and analytical testing to quantify fuel and coolant contamination.
Kit: Oil Sample / Part #: OILSMPL1
Coolant Sampling
- Level 1 Testing, for frequent monitoring, provides information regarding crucial characteristics such as pH, glycol percentage, boiling and freezing points, total hardness and conductivity and includes a visual inspection for oil, odor, foam and solids.
Kit: Coolant Level 1 / Part #: COOL1 - Level 2 Testing, for advanced testing including all the Level 1 tests plus chemical composition analysis to provide an in-depth view of coolant condition.
Kit: Coolant Level 2 / Part #: COOL2
Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)
- DEF Testing takes an oil sample to confirm urea content and uncover any contamination.
Kit: Diesel Exhaust Fluid / Part #OILSMPL1
Fuel Sampling
- Fuel 1, Basic fuel testing provides biodiesel content, elemental analysis, Karl Fischer water, microbial growth, particle count, sulfur content and visual inspection.
Kit: Basic Fuel / Part #: FS1 - Fuel 2, Fuel Monitoring can help identify diesel contamination such as gasoline with color, density, distillation curve, cetane index and viscosity while still providing all the tests of Basic Fuel (Fuel 1).
Kit: Fuel Monitoring / Part #: FS56 - Fuel 3, Fuel Storage provides long-term storage parameters such as clear and bright, flash point and oxidation stability, as well as biodiesel content, elemental analysis, Karl Fischer water, microbial growth, particle count, sulfur content, visual inspection, cetane index, color, density, distillation curve, viscosity.
Kit: Fuel Storage / Part #: FS57 - Cold Test, an additional test used within colder temperatures to identify various factors, includes cloud and pour point and the fuel’s cold filter plugging point.
Kit: Cold Test* / Part #: COLDTEST (*Cannot be purchased without a fuel kit)
